Ka nani a'o Makapu'u

I love living in town, because it's so convenient, close to Kamuela's work, and has a beauty of its own. However, I've lived most of my life in small rural areas, where the nearest "big city" is half an hour away.  Maybe that's why sometimes I feel like everything is closing in around me, and all I want to do is drive, and get out of the city. Well, yesterday we did that, and we ended up heading to Makapu'u to hike, because I had never been out to that side before. Even though it was a holiday, which meant a LOT of people out enjoying the views and weather, we were blessed to find a parking spot straight away and really close to the beginning of the hike. 

It was amazing! 

The hike itself is pretty easy, paved the whole way, but it was so exhilarating to be out in the country, up in the hills, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and the beautiful scenery.  And for the first time in my life we saw a pod of whales! It was so perfect. Heavenly Father really smiled down on us that day.
