Small things make all the difference

Today I was so thankful that we finally live in an apartment that has a parking stall. And it's covered. And someone long before we got here requisitioned Walmart and Sears shopping carts, to be used by anyone who has a lot to carry, for which I was also extremely grateful. It was pouring down with rain and I had to go shopping for some essentials with Ka'ihi (isn't that always the way it works out?) and probably couldn't have done it by myself before.

For several years we had to compete for street parking, sometimes parking miles away and having to walk home in the dark, occasionally in the rain, carrying all our bags, shopping and our newborn baby. It was hard, and we did ok, but I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore. I do, however, feel a lot more sympathetic towards others in the same situation. It sucks!!

I love our new place.

  1. It's wonderful to be appreciative of life's little blessings. I guess that's a perfect example of "opposition in all things" -- without the bad (experiences) we wouldn't fully appreciate the good! Yay for (reserved!) covered parking and "extra hands" (ie shopping carts!) Good job, you busy mum!! :) Love you all! XOXO
