One thing about going on holiday, sometimes you get so busy you don't even realize you haven't checked your facebook or email at all! I especially secretly love that Kamuela doesn't have a phone right now, so he's not constantly looking at it or getting distracted with work stuff. :) I think this should be a rule every time we go on holiday, regardless of where we are!
Anyway, it seems like so much has happened already since we've been here. Ka'ihi is getting used to the family, and the cats, and already is at ease around the dog because that's an animal he's familiar with. The second day we were here (yesterday, Thursday 16, 2010) he decided to take his first two steps! And I unfortunately wasn't there to witness it - I was getting a rare sleep-in. But I am on the lookout and have my camera ready incase he decides to show me!
My brothers have been taking Kamuela and I to the gym with them; they have a special right now that anyone can go for free with a member, until mid Jan. So we will get to use it the whole time we're here! Perfect.
The weather has been hot, even humid! It's rained a few times which cools the temperature down for a while but overall we've been in shorts and t-shirts. Ka'ihi is sleeping SO well at night! I think it's because the temperature drops a bit, so it's nice and cool. Or it could be all the excitement. Or both.
So I don't have too many pictures yet but I'll try to do better! Here's a cute video of him at the airport waiting to board the plane:
A picture of my boys arriving in Auckland:
and another of Ka'ihi practicing his walking:
Speaking of the plane, it was completely booked! It was so full and uncomfortable. Ka'ihi was such a good boy, he hardly fussed, and actually seemed really excited :) We were able to get a bassinet for him, and they didn't charge us for our extra bag. But he didn't sleep too well, as he couldn't stretch out, and we hardly slept either. So we were very glad to arrive and although it wasn't the greatest flight, it did seem to go by really fast and it was quite smooth.
So far we are enjoying ourselves and despite losing my precious hair straightener because of higher voltage (tear) we're having a wonderful time. Now to start getting his birthday party ready, and planning our Christmas dinner!

Hooray! A new post! I was so excited to read the latest, and the pictures are so cute! Loved the mini-video... I miss my little Ka'ihi boy!! I'm glad you're all having fun. Hugs to all! Mom K.
