Today was a little better than yesterday. We got to an even 6 shishi's in the toilet/on the carpet ratio. He did pretty well but today was also more frustrating than yesterday because I'm already so ready to be done!
I need more patience.
It's hard for me to remember that he's still a baby. I think because he talks so much and acts so much older I forget he's not even 2, and I expect him to pick things up quicker, or be better behaved or listen. But he's just a little boy and I have to tell myself that. And to think of the bigger picture and does it really matter if he makes a mess or doesn't listen the first time, and that in 20 years he'll be leaving my house and all I'll have are the memories and I don't want to be filled with regret or wish I'd done things differently.
So. He was a lot better than yesterday. I was worse than yesterday. I'm the one who needs to be trained.
#Humility.
Roxy, you're such a good mom!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the rest of the week... I hope it works out okay and that your carpet will soon be dry :)
You go girl! I like this ambition!!! =) I think potty training is definitely harder on the parent than on the kid! You're such a good mom though, I couldn't do any of the potty training plans that made it so I had to be so disciplined to take him to the bathroom every 15 min...or stay home for a whole day and just do potty stuff...I wasn't cut out for it. So you're doing awesome! Good luck!
ReplyDeletethank you sisters! It is like a foreign language! I am seriously feeling my way through it. (haha ew). Amber we miss you. How did you potty train your son??
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazing that he's using the bathroom! (I don't even intend to try potty training for a good while.) Good on you both, though! ... and good luck!
ReplyDeleteWell you're a much better mother than me...I didn't potty train Zak until a couple months before he turned 3! I took him to get the potty insert thing for their smaller bums that he got to pick out and underwear earlier and just had them around...but did nothing about it seriously until he was almost 3 and I wanted him potty trained before the baby came! It went pretty fast, but he was much older so I think that's the only reason why. I wouldn't have had all your patience if I'd tried earlier! ha! You go girl!
