Jan 2012 Ka'ihi-boy

Ka'ihi is becoming so affectionate and cute! Just this week alone he:

  • ran back to where I was sitting at the 'Ilikai to give me a goodbye kiss before going up onstage
  • held my hand in the doctor's office while I got my shots
  • asked me several times if "Mama, you alright?"
  • kissed my ow-ies
  • yelled at me to be careful with the hair straightener "No touch! Hot!"

In other news:

  • he told Blake to move over onstage so he had more room
  • loves climbing and jumping off EVERYTHING. This week he got his first big lump on his head when he tried to climb too quickly onto Daddy and fell off, backward, onto his toy truck
  • started pushing the music pedals and messing up Blake's sound onstage
  • snuck onto our bed in the middle of the night all stealth-like, so we rolled over and there he was, with his water bottle.
  • watched The Sandlot for the first time and found a new love in baseball. We had (in a timely fashion) bought him a T'ball set for his birthday and he plays with it every day, hitting the ball clear across our lounge.
  • constantly surprises me with how creative, determined and quick he is to pick things up, or figure things out by himself. He knows most of Kamuela's guitar tricks and practices every day at home, using his own props to perform.
  • knows how to be a ham. This week's funny - he started this "sprinting on the spot" thing with a cheeky grin on his face when I tell him to go to sleep.
I know this age isn't going to last forever. I can only enjoy every moment as much as possible and try to record them so I can look back and remember and smile.

Having a family has bought me the greatest joy in my life. I hope as time goes on and we have more children that joy will only increase (if that's even possible). I just hope I don't ever forget to appreciate every day the little things that make each child so special. Or help them understand just how important they are to me.

Or how much they are loved.
