Yesterday I told Kamuela that I wanted us to work toward running the whole section of the Ala Wai from McCully to Kapahulu. I thought we'd give it about a month to get there.
We did it today. I couldn't believe it! It's not really that far (about 1.5 miles one way) but we paced ourselves, stopping a couple of times to walk and let Ka'ihi run with us, and we got there and back in 40 minutes!! That's kind of long I know for 3 miles, but like I said we weren't trying to go fast, our main goal was to see how far we could get.
Sooooo, now we need to pick up the pace, then eventually we'll have to extend our route.
Oh and one of my favourite things about running early in the morning? In this chilly weather, I get to bundle Ka'ihi up in long pants, a jacket, shoes and socks and a beanie. He looks so snug and cozy and just cruises along with us, everyone along the way is always looking at him and smiling!
What is your definition of chilly?
